Product Overview:
Fully automatic water softening equipment, also known as (water softener, sodium ion exchanger, softening water device, water quality softener, etc.), can be configured in single tank, double tank, or multi-tank combinations. Control methods are divided into time-based and flow-based control, with single tank production capacity ranging from 1 ton/hour to 100 tons/hour.
Application Scope:
Industrial boilers, central air conditioning, heat exchangers, hotels and restaurants, food industry, chemical industry, laundry and dyeing, medical and health industries, etc.
Working Principle:
Water hardness is mainly composed of cations: calcium and magnesium ions. When raw water containing hardness passes through the resin layer of the exchanger, the calcium and magnesium ions in the water are adsorbed by the resin, while sodium ions are released. Thus, the water flowing out of the exchanger becomes softened water with hardness ions removed. When the resin adsorbing calcium and magnesium ions reaches a certain saturation level, the effluent hardness increases. At this point, the water softener automatically performs the regeneration of the exhausted resin according to a preset program, using a high-concentration sodium chloride solution to pass through the resin layer, restoring the exhausted resin back to sodium-type resin.
Product Structure:
Fully automatic water softening equipment mainly consists of three parts:
1. Automatic control device: Depending on user needs, it can be equipped with fully automatic controllers for time-based or flow-based control, and can optionally be fitted with multi-way control valves, or hydraulic or electric multi-valve control systems.
2. Tank section: According to user requirements, the ion exchange tank can be made of materials such as fiberglass, rubber-lined carbon steel, or stainless steel.
3. Accessories section: Includes water distribution devices, salt suction devices, pipeline fittings, etc.
Working Procedure:
1. Water supply: Untreated water passes through the resin layer, where exchange reactions occur to produce soft water.
2. Backwash: Water enters from the bottom of the resin layer to loosen the resin and remove fine debris.
3. Salt absorption regeneration: A high-concentration salt solution flows through the resin to restore the exhausted resin back to usable sodium-type resin.
4. Rinse: Water passes through the resin following the same flow as during supply to rinse away excess salt solution and the exchanged calcium and magnesium ions.
5. Water injection: Water is injected into the salt tank to dissolve salt particles for the next regeneration cycle.
Control Methods:
1. Time control: Suitable for locations with relatively stable daily water supply. It automatically initiates the regeneration process when the user-set regeneration time is reached. The regeneration time can be set by the user during low water usage periods. This control method features simplicity, low cost, and ease of operation. This system is mainly used for situations with low hardness, stable water consumption (water fluctuation not exceeding 15%), low requirements for effluent quality, and small water usage.
2. Flow control: The operation of this equipment is measured by a flow meter. When the set water volume is reached, regeneration is automatically initiated. The set water volume is calculated based on the total working exchange capacity of the exchanger and the hardness equivalent value of the inlet water. This system offers high precision, stable and reliable effluent quality, and includes a memory function, so no resetting of values is required after a power outage.
